TURBINE Press Release

For Immediate Release from Tsunami Music Publicity

Turbine Releases Third Studio Effort Blue Light City

Blue Light City-- the third full length studio recording from psychedelic rock band Turbine debuted at #3 in the Relix / Homegrown Music radio charts and has raised the bar for the band and—possibly, in terms of studio recordings, for the broader jam rock community as a whole. Produced by Grammy-winner John Davis (The Black Keys), Blue Light City evokes the smart groove-pop of '80’s bands like INXS and XTC, the psychedelic rock of Flaming Lips and Pink Floyd, the soul-rock of Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsies, aspects of prog-rock pioneers Yes and King Crimson and even elements of late 70's era Grateful Dead, in one strangely cohesive record.

Q & A with WILL TURPIN

Check out this interview Corshal Entertainment Group did with Will Turpin!

Q & A with WILL TURPIN

Croshal Entertainment Group

Q: How does the music on The Lighthouse differ musically from Collective Soul?

WT: Well, all of the melodies and music came out of my head as opposed to Ed Roland's. Obviously Collective Soul works as a band when we make records and this is me on piano, acoustic guitar, bass, vocals and singing harmonies. It's more from one person's brain rather than five who comprise a group called Collective Soul..............

WILL TURPIN Press Release

For Immediate Release:

Will Turpin branches out on The Lighthouse

New EP offers five songs from the Tree of Life

Atlanta, Ga. (Oct. 26, 2011) - Melody’s a running theme in Will Turpin's life. As bassist and one of the founding members of Collective Soul, the Atlanta super group racked up seven No. 1 hits and 19 Top 40 singles based on their hook-laden guitar anthems, solid riffs and arena-ready choruses. Their unique sound propelled them to international stardom and multi-platinum status.

Turpin’s new five-song EP, The Lighthouse (Gooey Music, 2011), is his first solo foray after 18 years of loyal service to the hit-making quintet. The laid back rocker’s many attributes grace the EP—it’s humble, loyal, lighthearted, and melodically blessed from head-to-toe...........

The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards

Thanks to my friend and a long-time Grammy member, I was able to attend this year's GRAMMY AWARDS on February 13th. I never had a chance to blog about it back in February, but people keep asking, so now I'll just point them here....

.....We arrived on the carpet and the what struck me most is how small the area is. There's Billy Bush interviewing for Access Hollywood, and squished next to him is Entertainment Tonight. Crowded in tight. With security placed every 5 steps to keep people from taking pictures or rushing Ryan Seacrest.

While walking I was nearly face to face with Kelly Osborne on my left as she leaned out of the E! Fashion Police 360 degree camera area. She looked very pretty in pink with platinum blonde hair. She was escorting Adam Levine from Maroon 5 out of the camera platform and he ended up walking the rest of the red carpet right next to us............
